On behalf of the Organizing Committee it is our pleasure to inform you, that a special training course will be organized as a satellite event to the TREAT-NMD Governing Board meeting.

You are kindly invited to join this training course to be held in Budapest , Hungary
on 4th and 5th February, 2009.

The course is free of charge, however participants are kindly asked to arrange their own travel and accommodation, as well as to pay a small daily fee, to cover lunch and
conference facilities. Limited financial support can be obtained from ENMC

The scientific programme of the training course can be found in a second attachment.

The goal of the course is to raise awareness about NMDs (SMA, DMD) among Central-Eastern-European healthcare professionals and the research community, and distribute new information on the latest developments in therapy and standards of care of these disorders. The training lectures will be given by leading professionals of this field, who are
members of the TREAT-NMD consortium or work as specialists on patient's care.

TREAT-NMD is working with leading specialists worldwide to create international consensus on care and management for patients suffering from neuromuscular diseases.

Receiving the best care can dramatically improve patients' quality of life and even prolong life expectancy. However, because of the relative rarity of the individual neuromuscular
diseases, until recently there has not been any consensus among health care
professionals about the best care for patients. Care standards differ not only
from country to country but also within individual countries.

TREAT-NMD has a team dedicated to working on this issue and the TREAT-NMD
