The scientific programme of the training course can be found in a second
attachment.
The goal of the course is to raise awareness about NMDs (SMA, DMD) among
Central-Eastern-European healthcare professionals and the research community,
and distribute new information on the latest developments in therapy and
standards of care of these disorders. The training lectures will be given by
leading professionals of this field, who are
members of the TREAT-NMD consortium or work as specialists on patient's care.
TREAT-NMD is working with leading specialists worldwide to create international
consensus on care and management for patients suffering from neuromuscular
diseases.
Receiving the best care can dramatically improve patients' quality of life and
even prolong life expectancy. However,
because of the relative rarity of the individual neuromuscular
diseases, until recently there has not been any consensus among health care
professionals about the best care for patients. Care standards differ not only
from country to country but also within individual countries.
TREAT-NMD has a team dedicated to working on this issue and the TREAT-NMD
website hosts user-friendly versions of a range of documents relating to
patient care. For further information please visit http://www.treat-nmd.eu
Hoping to meet you soon in Budapest , with best regards from the Local Hosts
